The final day of the Heart of England Cadet League, staged in Leamington, resulted in the unbeaten Rugby A team taking the League title. Niall Herbert, Paul Lilley and Anshul Satsangi were the triumphant trio with Satsangi taking the average prize, recording a 95% success rate. Herbert made it a full house for his town, securing the individual knock-out trophy from Spa’s Timmy Cooper.

Lillington Graded Tournament

The last graded tournament of the season, hosted by Lillington Free Church Table Tennis Club, is taking place on Febrary 25th at St Nicholas Park Leisure Centre in Warwick.

The age group events start at 0915 in the morning, with the graded events starting at around 1315 in the afternoon.

Entries are now being accepted and can be made online via the Lillington Free Church TTC website here.  Further details and information can be found in the Graded Tournament section at http:www.lillingtontt.co.uk

 

 

Olympic Short List

The ETTA announced their shortlist for the London 2012 Olympic Games Table Tennis squad yesterday and it was great news for Leamington!

Kelly Sibley, former town champion and president of Lillington FC TTC, has had her place on the shortlist confirmed along with Joanna Parker, Naomi Owen and Na Liu.

Happy Olympic New Year - and we have an Olympic Elite Athlete right on our doorstep - National Table Tennis Champion Kelly Sibley

Kelly's dream has always been to compete and win a medal at the Olympic Games and she has worked tirelessly to achieve this since she first represented England at the 2000 English Schools table tennis competition at the age of twelve. Due to her commitment to the sport she has now been short listed to represent Team GB table tennis squad for the 2012 games. She was first reserve at Beijing four years ago, but is now one of the favourites to achieve selection for our home Olympics - London 2012.
